Reiki Energy

Reiki is an alternative healing practice that has been in use for several centuries. One can define Reiki as an energy force that symbolizes power, or an essence, or maybe a transcendental or universal spirit that heals and cures by touch
What is it that makes it so special, yet so powerful? Reiki is unique from other forms of alternative healing as the healers use their hands to cure someone of an illness.

Strangely, none, not even the masters themselves can explain fully how this energy works, but they can only describe it as some kind of a connection made with a cosmic radiant energy bestowed upon plants, animals, and other human beings, that can be transferred over distances by actually concentrating on the persons concerned.

The Reiki energy is not sent but drawn through the body channel from the sea of universal vibrant energy. Actually, we all have this vibrant energy within us and all that is needed is an attunement in order to heal themselves or others.

After having attained level one, you will be able to identify problems associated with energy imbalance that will alert you on organic problems in your body or with someone else. Once your level of experience increases, your power becomes stronger and you can now teach others what you have learned and become a master.

Reiki healing is not a process, which is controlled by the mind or some kind of a power that can be controlled by a practitioner. Reiki masters believe that this energy flow comes from the ‘Ki’, which is an energy flow that is present in everyone. By using the power of ‘ki, and letting it touch the affected part, it can heal because of the energy flow in it.

Positive thoughts alone generate a positive energy flow and this is one of the strengths of the Reiki energy. Negative thoughts disturb the healthy flow of positive energy.

Though modern medical sciences still is keen on conducting more research on this form of ‘touch healing’, there have been several instances when this therapy has been practiced on patients awaiting operations to calm their nerves and also to help them heal faster post-operations.

This unique touch heal process, some say, does have an effect on the physical and mental well being of a person. It is not to be confused with any kind of spiritual belief or power.

Those who practice Reiki believe that the aura surrounding this healing method is an extension of the mind that crosses the body barrier. But it must be kept in mind that the Reiki energy flow does not intend to replace conventional medical treatment. It helps the patient to calm and get relief from the problem. However, if doctors suggest an operation as a permanent cure, then it should never be ignored given the proven history and record of progress of medical science.

But in case of a headache, migraine, or fighting stress or any addiction, Reiki energy can help you deal with the problem. You have to think positive and believe that cure is possible with the healing.

Reiki Symbols

The first symbol
we are learning is the Cho- Ku - Rei symbol. This is the first symbol we use when activating our Reiki Second Degree


This symbol activates a large spiral of energy that we call a power boost. This helps to send the Reiki energy at greater distances and with more power. You have to use this symbol first before you can activate the other symbols. It is capable of sending healing energy out to other people in absent healings. It can also set up protection and heal situations as well as people. Choku - Rei is capable of going into the future as well as going back into the past. This is to help set up positive outcomes to any upcoming events and to relieve the pain caused by something gone wrong in your past. Choku - Rei activates your Reiki second degree. Please remember it is essential you use it before the other symbols. This symbol cannot be used to harm anyone, but it can be used to protect and heal.
It’s meaning in other forms of teachings used such as yoga are:
It embodies total control and power of one’s body mind and spirit but only towards the person using this symbol for honest use in healing.
When used on anyone or thing it gives them the power of strength and healing as well as protection for their own needs.
It is essential that you learn this symbol properly. I have enclosed a copy of the symbol, but I ask that when you have learnt the Choku - Rei symbol, you return it to me or burn it when it is no longer needed.


The next symbol we will look at is the symbol for mental healing. The name of this symbol is Sei He Ki.



I know mental sounds weird but what it means is working with someone through their inner self and their mind. With this symbol we are able to connect to them from the inside, to help them move through any negative thoughts and fears that they have built up inside of themselves.
This symbol works in healing phobias, anxiety, depression and any mental illnesses like schizophrenia etc.
You cannot take control of the patients mind but you act as a little voice that goes in and sends positive thoughts to them.
This helps them to feel good about themselves, and to move through their fears.
This symbol can be used to help people lose weight, give up smoking and help with increasing memory capacity. I like to use the Reiki ideals when doing a mental healing. If you have discussed the problem with the patient before the healing you can organise a special affirmation that they have picked out for you to use when doing the healing.
There are many books and cards available today that explain and offer positive affirmations that you can use with the mental healing. The position for mental healing is on the head as explained in class. Timing should be up to you personally, but I recommend around 30 minutes.
Remember to activate the Choku - Rei symbol first.
The name of this symbol, Sei He Ki is pronounced as follows: Sei- Hey- KEY
A reminder: This symbol cannot cause harm or give you control over another person.
When drawing the symbol in your mind or with your hand remember to repeat its name three times. There are three parts of this symbol. With the drawing of each part repeat the full name SEI HE KI until all the symbol is drawn.


The final symbol is the symbol for absent and distant healing. The name of this symbol is Hon-Sha-Zhe-Sho-Nen.



With this symbol we are able to send healings out to people who are far away or not available to attend a hands on healing.
You are also able to send healings to any events or situations that are going on in your life or to those close to you.
You can also heal any world crisis or disaster that is occurring today. If someone is being negative or cruel you can activate this symbol to calm them down and make them change their negative attitude.
This symbol cannot be used to hurt anyone, it only knows how to set up positive healing.
You are also able to call in the past with this symbol, which is valuable if you are a believer of past lives.
You are also able to heal past life issues the patient has with the use of this symbol.
The name of this symbol, Hon-Sha-Zho-Sho-Nen, is pronounced as follows: "HON- SHAR-ZAY-SHOW-NEN"
When drawing this symbol you must repeat its name three times until the total symbol is drawn. There will be some of the symbol left to draw when you finish saying it’s name three times, remain silent and allow the energy to flow while you are drawing the rest of the symbol with your hand or in your mind.
It is a very big symbol and will take awhile to learn, but do not be distressed it will come to you with practice.

REIKI

Reiki
is a Japanese technique that promotes the acceleration of the healing process and is also very effective against stress and negative energy. The word Reiki (pro:Ray Kee) is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". "Ki" is similar in thought to "chi" or "qi" in Chinese medicine. There are also similarities in relation to Hindu "prana" and Christian "light." So Reiki is actually a "spiritually guided life force energy."

It is perfomed by "laying on hands" on various parts of the body and Reiki healer are like a "middle person" between the divine and the seeker. The patients get healed by the grace of God and the healer is like one of the channel or vessels for the patients to get this energy.
Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
It also means having our chakra points balanced as all chakra points are connected to various parts of our body and internal organs. When our chakra points are balanced, beside the spiritual food or physical exercise that we are taking, our energy is also abundance, thus we will have a healthy body, mind and spirit.

WHAT CAN REIKI DO ?
This list has been comprised through anecdotal research. Clients have reported feeling:
• More creative
• More balanced
• Less emotional
• Less stressed
• More relaxed
• More vitality
• More awareness
• Less or no pain
• More ability to fall asleep quickly
• More ease of movement
These reported benefits generally lasted at least three to ten days, and often the original problem did not re-occur.

HOW REIKI WORKS
Our natural, ideal state is balance. Reiki helps us relax and move closer to the balance we are meant to experience. In this relaxation, healing can happen spontaneously. Our cells are just waiting for us to stop resisting our own well-being. Reiki is one way of releasing resistance to healing and allowing our "Ki" energy to flow in balance.

Reiki also opens the flow of energy (Ki or Chi) in the practitioner. Many people find that they are more psychic after a Reiki Attunement. It helps to activate the natural intuition we were all born with. You may find that information comes to you "out of the blue" about the person you are treating with Reiki. Use your own discretion about sharing such information with your clients. Always foster their uplifted sense of hope, which is healing in and of itself.
